In this time of physical distancing and voluntary isolation, it is an extreme Lenten Study of sorts. For many of us, this is the first time we hold the awareness that something outside of us can make us sick.
This is new is a change of routine as life as we know it, the normal will be new and will be will new again and again before the scare of COVID19 is past us. Even when it is past us, this experience will change us. As in many things we choose how that change impacts us.
One of the most important key things during this time, is to not feed the fear. I have read in two different places that in the Bible an it is said “do not be afraid”, 365 times. I have not personally counted, but feel confident with these biblical scholars.
With all of of this, I want to offer a 15 minute guided meditation, starting Tuesday, March 17 at 11:45 CT. The link will go out every morning, with a link and instructions to a Zoom video call, with an option to call in. All you have to do is sign up and there is even an app for that. (https://zoom.us ) This is completely free to you!
There will not be an offering of dialogue initially, because a I want to honor anyone trying to fit meditation or re-centering in on their lunch break or whatever break during a work day. May we allow the spaces in our hearts to be filled with light and love to enter and fill our hearts. May we also fill the physical spaces between us with love, light and unbound mercy.
